Losing Weight with Jumping Rope.
When starting to skip it might be a bit tricky at first, just remember practice makes perfect! You will feel that rope jumping works your legs, shoulders and your lungs will start to feel the burn as well.
Start off by doing 30 sets of 30 seconds of jump rope with 1 minute rest in between sets, do this for a week. The move to 30 sets of 1minute of jump rope with 1 minute rest in between sets the following week… work your way up the progression ladder
Later on try doing 6 sets of 5 minutes jumping rope with 2-3 minutes rest in between sets. The main thing is that you try and jump rope for a total time of 30minutes (not including rest time).
The great thing about high intensity cardio is that you can do it with all kind of moves: jogging, stair climbing, running etc. Whatever cardio you are doing, you can make it high intensity…
Building Lean Muscles
Build you way up to doing 20 minutes of jumping rope a day, and incorporate some body weight exercises – Push ups, sit ups, crunches, pull ups, squats & lunges – for about 10 minutes. Do these body weight exercises to build some muscle, to get lean & ripped you need to work those muscles because losing weight is not going to.
